Guilherme Paulus’s Success as an Entrepreneur

Guilherme Paulus is a successful businessman and entrepreneur in Brazil. He was born in Sao Paulo in 1949. Guilherme Paulus is a visionary man and his vision to see himself as a successful businessman was nurtured when he was a young man. He went to university and studied Business Administration. At the age of 20, he got an internship with IBM. When he was 24 years old, he met Carlos Vicente who was a local government official. Carlos had an idea of how he would expand the tourism sector in Brazil.

Guilherme Paulus liked the idea, but he had no money to invest in the business idea. Carlos then offered Paulus a deal that they should form a company called CVC but Paulus would be the one in charge of the day to day operations of the company. CVC then opened its first branch in Sao Paulo and continued being partners for four years. After four years Carlos departed. Guilherme Paulus then went on to become a successful businessman because of his vision of tourism in Brazil.

CVC Company was strategically placed next to a movie theatre. AS people left the theatre they could not help but notice CVC. The tourism outlet provided people with their next journey of travel and fun. Guilherme Paulus made sure that the number of tourists has increased. Within no time, CVC had opened many stores across Brazil. In the year 2009, Paulus resort to make his company a public company. He sold 63% of his business to Carlyle Group for $750 million. He wanted to use this money to expand his operations in the tourism sector. His aim was to dominate the tourism sector in Brazil.

After publication, CVC became the largest tour company in Brazil and the whole of Latin America with over $5.2 billion sales per year. The growth of CVC has resulted in the growth of other business opportunities for Paulus. In 2005, Paulus started GJP Hotels by investing more than $600 million. Currently, GJP hotels have 14 hotel resorts throughout Brazil with more than 3000 rooms and with a staff of over 5000 workers.
